Sikaflex Pro 600ml Polyurethane

Silicone Sealants For Facades & Cladding Sikaflex PRO

Product brief

Sikaflex-PRO is a one component, thixotropic, polyurethane based joint sealant. It cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture to form an elastomeric material with adhesive properties, in some cases without the need for priming of the substrate.

Product Details

Sikaflex pro is a 1 component, moisture curing, elastic joint sealant. It is designed for movement & connection joints on porous substrates such as cement & brick as well as indoor & outdoor general sealing applications.

Sikaflex pro has good adhesion to a variety of common building substrates & good workability with joint movement capability of ± 25%.

This product also comes in 11 colours: White, Off-White, Sandstone, Pale Brown, Japan Beige, Grey, Dark Grey, Brick Red, Redwood, Black & Dark Amber. All of which we stock here in 600ml sausages at Glass Trade Centre, excluding Brick Red which only comes in cartridges & we order on request.

To apply Sikaflex Pro all substrates must be clean, dry & free from oils, grease, dust or any other loose particles which could affect the products adhesion to the substrate.

It is recommended for non-porous substrates such as aluminium, stainless steel, glass etc that the surface be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol & treated using Sika Aktivator 205, leaving a flash off time of at least 30 minutes to ensure optimal adhesion.

For porous substrates such as concrete, brick & mortar Sika Primer 3N should be applied with a brush after cleaning, leaving a flash off time of 30 minutes prior to sealant application.

If you have any concerns around adhesion to a certain substrate, our staff at Glass Trade Centre can perform in-house or on-site adhesion tests with various priming methods for peace of mind. Alternatively the staff at Sika’s lab in Wetherill Park are always happy to help.

Joint design                                                    The joint width must be designed to suit the joint movement required and the movement capability of the sealant. The joint width shall be ≥ 10 mm and ≤ 40 mm. A width to depth ratio of 2:1 must be maintained (for excep- tions, see table below).

Standard joint widths for joints between concrete elements

Joint distance [m]           Min joint width [mm]  Min. joint depth [mm]

All joints must be correctly designed and dimensions in accordance with the relevant standards, before their construction. The basis for calculation of the necessary joint widths are the type of structure and its dimensions, the technical values of the adjacent building materials and the joint sealing material, as well as the specific exposure of the building and the joints.
